Committed Counselling

Your confidentiality is my priority.  It means everything that we discuss stays between us.

I may make some notes during the sessions.  These notes will be stored anonymously and get destroyed once our work is completed.

You also need to know that I see my supervisors on a regular basis and may be discussing our work with them.  You will be completely anonymised during supervision, and the whole purpose of it is to make sure I work with you in accordance with BACP Ethical Framework and deliver the best service for you.

I also have a duty of care and breach confidentiality in cases when I feel there is a potential threat to your well-being or people around you or in case of criminal activities (such as, for instance, human trafficking, FGM, murder).  If this is the case, then I would discuss it with you and only then I would notify the relevant authorities.
