At Committed Counselling, I specialize in providing support across several key areas to help you navigate life’s challenges:
At Committed Counselling, I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. My approach is client-centered, meaning our sessions will be tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll work towards enhancing your mental well-being and finding effective coping strategies.
I am an integrative counsellor. It means I use elements from different mainstream approaches, mainly, psychodynamic, client centred and CBT.
Psychodynamic approach means we may be exploring your early experiences and the way they affect you at present.
Client centred approach means you remain at all times the true expert of your life, and I am here to walk alongside you and to offer you my full understanding and compassion.
CBT helps to find the ways of dealing with present issues more effectively and is proven to be highly efficient when clients experience high levels of anxiety and/or having depressive thoughts.
Clients of any cultural background, gender, faith position, ethnic origin or sexuality are welcome!
I currently offer private sessions online on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings after 5pm. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays I am available from 9.30am until 8pm (online or in person).
I offer sessions once or twice a week or fortnightly – whatever you feel suits you better.
We will meet online or face to face if you live locally and prefer therapy carried out in person.
Ideal for individuals seeking occasional support or wishing to try a session before committing to more.
Perfect for those desiring consistent progress through regular weekly sessions.
Designed for clients aiming for accelerated growth with more frequent sessions in a shorter timeframe.
"Maiia is very professional, warm and accommodating. She gave me the space I needed to talk. I found therapy particularly helpful in coping with stress. We identified my unhelpful patters of behaviour, and overall I find myself in a better place emotionally. Big thanks for her support and empathy."
I have been in therapy with Maiia for over a year now. She has been my rock during turbulent and dark moments. I feel I can tell her anything and would not be judged. Initially, I was looking for a short term counselling, but somehow, it’s always more to explore and explore about myself, and it feels amazing!
I felt safe with Maiia even when I felt vulnerable. I found sessions very useful and thankful listening to me empathically.
Your confidentiality is my priority. It means everything that we discuss stays between us.
I may make some notes during the sessions. These notes will be stored anonymously and get destroyed once our work is completed.
You also need to know that I see my supervisors on a regular basis and may be discussing our work with them. You will be completely anonymised during supervision, and the whole purpose of it is to make sure I work with you in accordance with BACP Ethical Framework and deliver the best service for you.
I also have a duty of care and breach confidentiality when I feel there is a potential threat to your well-being or people around you or in case of criminal activities (for instance, human trafficking, FGM etc). I would discuss this with you and only then I would notify the relevant authorities.
Psychology focuses on therapy and counseling, while psychiatry involves medical treatments, including prescribing medications for mental health disorders.
During first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding your needs. We will discuss your background, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This session is an opportunity.

"Together with Maiia we looked at my life journey, which I found helpful. I am more in tune with my feelings now than I used to be and also see my options more clearly. Maiia was easy to talk to. I felt understood and shared with her what had troubled me for a long time. I feel very grateful to have had her as my counsellor"
